2 pound bag of rice: $1.79
13 ounce box of rice krispies: $3.59.
1 pound can of beans: $0.59
1 pound of meat: $4.19 +
2 liters of soda: $1.19
2 liters of tap water: Free
1 meal at a restaurant: $15.00
1 meal at home of beans %26amp; rice: $0.99
3) NEVER USE CREDIT CARDS.
Nothing makes people broke more than paying twice for the same item. With a 25% credit card, you do exactly that.
4) TRYING TO GET RICH QUICK, ONLY MAKES THE OTHER GUY RICH.
5) LONG-TERM PLANNING, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM AGAIN.
Once you've gotten current on your bills, continue living cheap and put the savings in the bank. Sell more stuff.
Here are your goals:
1) Put $1,000 in the bank. This may take a month or two.
2) Pay off all your credit cards. This may take a year or two.
3) Put $25,000 in the bank. This may take another year.
That money is ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES. And a sale at the mall is not an emergency.
4) Now you can put aside for retirement. 15% of what you make.
5) Got kids? Give them a college fund.
6) Got a house payment? Pay it off.
7) Live like you're rich, because now you are.
